On 5th of June at the Kinoteka in the Palace of Culture and Science the Enactus Poland National Competition 2017 took place. Students presented innovative business projects, and the business jury selected a team that will represent Poland at the Enactus World Cup in London.
Enactus Poland National Competition 2017 summarizes the activities of students in the past academic year and simultaneously opens preparations for business cooperation in the next year.
The event gathered together nearly 400 participants at Kinoteka. Among all participants two honorable guests were present: longtime ambassador of Enactus in the world, Lord Dr. Michael Hastings, Head of Global Citizenship at KPMG International, who inspires all for continued cooperation and courage in action, and Rachael A. Jarosh, CEO & President Enactus International.
In the jury were more than 100 CEOs and directors from the Danone Group, Mars Polska, Polish Development Fund, Grupa Onet, PwC, Mastercard, LOTTE Wedel, Saint-Gobain Group, BOŚ Bank, T-Mobile, Volvo, Eurocash Group, Medicover. Siemens, L’Oreal, IBM Poland, Oriflame, McCornick Poland, Shell, Prudential, Wirtualna Polska, PMI, Antalis Poland, Avallon, CAT Finacial Services, MindSpace, HSBC Poland, DB Schenker.
At the competition the best teams from 12 universities presented theirs projects results. On 5th of June the winning trophy went to the team from Wroclaw University of Economics . Entrepreneurial students stole the hearts of the jury with project called Needle You Need , which aims to solve the problem of excessive consumerism and irresponsible production. „We have involved female seniors into project, who give new life to the old clothes by creating original blankets. Involved seniors in the production process we pass on our best assets – positive energy and knowledge”- says Majka Gryczyńska, leader of the winning team.
Apart from the main award, the team of Wroclaw University of Economics was awarded with the title of „Most Improved Team”. During the event, additional awards and distinctions were also awarded:
– Outstanding Leader Award granted to Anna Taraska from Poznan University of Economics
– Best Business Advisor for Piotr Chimko, advising the team of the University of Lodz
– Best Faculty Advisor for Agnieszka Krugiełka, the academic supervisor of Poznan University of Technology
– Social Media Rocket for Poznan University of Economics
– Business Partner of the Year for Saint-Gobain Group
– Alumni Contribution Award for Michał Przybylski and Paweł Trela
The winning team will be representing Poland at the Enactus World Cup in London in September, where team will face the representatives of the 36 countries in which the Enactus Program is present.
