This year’s competition was very excited for all participants, judges and observers. In Kamienica Theatre, on 3rd June, seven qualified teams representing: University of Gdansk, Lodz, Warsaw and Kielce, Technical University of Lodz and Poznan, Poznan University of Management and Banking participated in the Opening Round of the national competition.
Judges were impressed with skills and determination of Enactus students. Over 50 top level managers, presidents and members of the board watched presentations and evaluated the outcome of students projects.
Panel of Judges involved sponsors and supporters (i.e. AIG, Cargill, Credit Agricole Bank Polska, PwC, Gras Savoye, AmCham, CSRinfo) of Enactus program in Poland but also nominated responsible leaders representing i.e.: MARS, Hortex, IKEA, Topex, PKO Bank Polski, 3M, Antalis, Cemex, Coca – Cola HBC, FRSI, FRSE, Alcatel – Lucent, Kinnarps, Kompania Piwowarska, Link4, Medicover, Microsofot, Orbis, Nextira, Platan Group, GPEC, PPF, Ruch, Schneider Electric and many others.

At the Opening Ceremony, guest of honor – the US Ambassador, Stephen D. Mull congratulated all participants, and highlighted several successes of Poles at international events and competitions.
The Final Round of the competition in Kamienica Theatre gathered 50 Judges and around 150 observers sitting at the audience. Teams presenting in the finals were University of Gdansk, University of Lodz and Technical University of Lodz. Before announcing the results students rewarded all judges with big applause and symbolic Enactus pin, welcoming them in the Enactus network.
The winning team from University of Gdansk consist of over 30 students from different faculties and fields of studies. However as they stated: they have one thing in common they believe that „They set the course of change”. The team received the trophy from Mrs Joanna Byczynska (Financial Controller, Cargill Poland).
Students from Gdansk presented three projects. One of them ‘Future in your hand’ is focused on helping convicts to come back to society. Second one, ‘Village in the City’ is generating profit and business opportunities for local farmers, by organizing direct selling to customers. Third project was based on converting plastic (PET) bottles into material for the manufacture of quilts. As a result apart from promoting ecological awareness manufactured quilts were donated to homeless shelters in the region.
University of Gdansk will represent Poland at the Enactus World Cup in Cancun, Mexico in Septemeber 2013.
Second place was won by University of Lodz, the team was congratulated by Mrs. Joanna Tomicka – Zawora (Vice president, Credit Agricole Bank Polska). Third place Technical University od Lodz was rewarded by Mr Mariusz Mlynarczyk (Member of the Board at AIG). The official auditor of the competition was PwC, represented by Mrs Ewa Zmyslowska (Recruitment Manager).
